Dr. Vaishalee Patil, MD, FAAP, IBCLC

Dr. Patil grew up in India with a passion for teaching.  After graduating with honors from Grant Medical School in Mumbai she initially practiced and was Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  After moving to the United States, her passion for teaching and mentoring parents led her to complete a second residency in Pediatrics at Henry Ford Health systems in Detroit, Michigan.

She has been a preceptor for Dell Children’s Hospital residents, an Associate Professor for UT Medical Branch students and now Dell Medical School. You will often see her teaching students in the clinic. She has been named Outstanding Teacher by Dell Children’s Pediatric Residency Program.  She has served in many leadership roles, including serving as a chairperson for the Ethics committee at Seton Southwest hospital, board member/officer for the Central Texas Primary Care Alliance, and as Vice Chair of Dell Children’s Health Alliance, where she helps collaborate between Dell Children’s Hospital and Austin community.

Dr. Patil and her husband are proud parents of two boys- Neil and Yash. Neil is a UT Turing scholar and Yash is studying computer science at Stanford University. Her family is nature-loving and loves to camp and hike. Despite her busy schedule, she continues with her passion for healthy cooking and healthy living. Expanding the horizon of teaching outside of her clinic, she coached her son’s Science Olympiad team for Kealing Middle School and led them to the Nationals!

The Patil family lives in Circle C and often sees her patients at neighborhood stores and events.   She says that the best part of her job is getting hugs from her patients when they’re out and about, or a smile when she help them feel better in the office.
