Dr. Shela Gu

Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics

Dr. Shela Gu

Dr. Gu was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, and completely fell in love with the city of Austin. She returned home for her Medical Degree at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She then came back to TX and completed her Pediatrics residency at Baylor College of Medicine in San Antonio.

In her free time, she enjoys food adventures, hiking (with plenty of sunscreen!), journaling, and traveling. She has also recently become interested in gardening and will be starting her own plant family soon.

Dr. Gu loves pediatrics because she enjoys building strong & lasting relationships with not only her patients but also their entire families. Her patients make her smile, and she works hard to return the favor. Overall, she is excited to be back in Austin and give back to the community where she first started her path to medicine.
