Haydee Rimer, MD, FAAP
Dr. Rimer is originally from Venezuela, where she completed her medical degree at La Universidad de Los Andes, where she graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude). She has a Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and completed her Pediatric Residency at Texas Tech University in El Paso. After completing her residency, she moved to Austin where her husband had accepted a professorship at the University of Texas. She initially served as a pediatrician and residency preceptor in the clinics for City of Austin, developing relationships in the Austin pediatric community that eventually led to the formation of Southwest Pediatrics with Dr. Jolet and Dr. Patil in 2001.
Dr. Rimer and her husband have 2 children, Daniela and Austin. Daniela is a bilingual (English/Spanish) Kindergarten teacher. Austin is a gifted soccer player and is in high school. As with all of our providers, Dr. Rimer is comfortable caring for all general pediatric issues, but has special interest in allergy and nutrition, with special focus on healthy living as a way to prevent obesity.
