Kelly Jolet, MD, FAAP

Her Texas roots run very deep, descending from the “Old 300” that Stephen F. Austin brought to Texas in the 1820s.  She grew up near San Antonio and graduated with honors from Our Lady of the Lake University with a degree in Biology. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and was a finalist for the Gold Headed Cane Award, in recognition for extraordinary dedication to the health and welfare of patients.

She completed her Residency training at the Naval Medical Center San Diego and proudly served on active duty for 4 years at Naval Hospital Lemoore, California, caring for Navy families.  After returning home to Texas she practiced at Children’s Hospital of Austin and City of Austin clinics before forming Southwest Pediatrics with Drs. Patil and Rimer.   She has been named Outstanding Teacher for the Dell Children’s Pediatric Residency Program.

Dr. Jolet and her husband have 3 adult children – Katie, Zack and McKenna.  Katie is a dual language elementary school teacher and Zack/McKenna are working on their college degrees.   Outside of the office, Dr. Jolet is a volunteer leader in missions through Riverbend Church with a special focus on El Salvador and South America.  The Jolets are a Scouting family, leading their kids’ troops to Eagle Rank and The Girl Scout Gold Award.  She and her husband love history, travel, hiking and camping.  Dr. Jolet is a dog-mom to Scout, a slightly naughty Yorkie mix, and Pepper, a tender-hearted rescue lab from the mean streets of Corpus Christi.

The best part of Pediatrics, she says, is watching kids grow and building a trusting relationship with them and their families as we move steadily toward independence.  She loves to support families through tough times and celebrate victories along the way.
